Dr. German Trujillo

Dr. German Trujillo was born and raised in Colombia, South America, where he attended Dental School. Shortly after, he moved to Chicago and after 5 years of additional specialty training he obtained his certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of Illinois.

Dr. Trujillo lived and practiced in Seattle for the last five years. He was involved in private practice as well as teaching at the University of Washington Oral Surgery Department.

He recently moved to San Diego to explore and enjoy Southern California. Kiteboarding, soccer and rollerblading are his favorite activities. Dr Trujillo enjoys all aspect of Oral Surgery, particularly implants and reconstructive procedures. What Is An Oral Surgeon?

Oral and maxillofacial surgery is the specialty of dentistry that includes the diagnosis, surgical and adjunctive treatment of diseases, injuries and defects involving both the functional and aesthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region.

To become an oral and maxillofacial surgeons an individual must graduate from an accredited dental school and complete an additional four or more years of training in an accredited, hospital-based oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons care for patients with problem wisdom teeth, facial pain, and misaligned jaws. They treat accident victims suffering facial injuries, place dental implants, care for patients with oral cancer, tumors and cysts of the jaws, and perform facial cosmetic surgery.
